Primark shopping haul

I was in Primark today shopping for new bedding.. Whilst searching for where the 'home' department was, I got a little sidetracked.. I bought a few new items of clothing to update my wardrobe..

This black rib knitted jumper was £8. I thought it would be brilliant for the colder winter months. I love layering jumpers over skirts and dresses, I have a black maxi skirt with two slits up the side which this one would look great paired with. I have a chunky 80s styled necklace too which I will be wearing with this jumper to help give it some edge!
Recently I've notice I wear a lot of black!! So I need to try and inject more colour into my wardrobe. This jumper would be cool in a mint green or baby blue, so it is my mission to find one in my next shopping trip! .. If anyone knows where I can find one that would be a great help!! :)

I got these wild Aztec-y print leggings for just £6!! The bright green and yellow in them I thought would brighten up my outfits. I could pair then with some heels to dress them up, or wear them with pumps or boots in the day.

I payed £8 for this lace skirt. It's really cute and girly. I thought I could rock it up with my military boots I bought the other day (on my mint fest fashion post). Can't go wrong with a bit of lace over the autumn winter months..

I'm a little bit in love with these shoes... They were in the sale for £6, so I just could not say no!!! They might not be the best shoes to wear in the rain, but other then that, I think they would look fab with my leather leggings or jeans.. Or with tights and a dress/skirt. Pointy, strappy shoes are really on trend right now. Even though these shoes were probably summer stock (as they were in the sale) I still thought they could work for autumn/winter.

Thats it for now.. By the way that was my new wedding in the background of all the pictures too, haha! I am going to style my new pieces and take some photos. So will uploading them in the next few days :)

DIY nails

I love getting a little bit creative.. And wanted to share on here one of my favourite tricks for creating stand out nails! It's become a kind of signature of mine.. These wonderfully glittery nails..
WARNING: this can get very messy.. Lay newspaper down if needed!! (My flat mates shout at me for making the carpet sparkely.. Personally, I don't see the problem ;) .. )

20130927-001329.jpg

All you will need to create them is some clear nail varnish and a pot of glitter (grab some from your local craft store).

20130927-001546.jpg

1. I realised the glitter stays better sealed when your nails already have a coat of varnish on. So no need to get the nail varnish remover out if your nails are already painted. If not give them a paint (it doesn't matter what colour, because the glitter will cover them). Wait until the nail varnish is completely dry until moving on to the next step.

2. Have the pot of glitter ready and open. If its in a small thin tube, find a little pot to tip the glitter into thats big enough and deep enough to press your finger into. Paint your first nail with the clear nail varnish, and press your nail into the glitter gently, so your whole nail is covered. Repeat with each nail until complete. A lot of glitter will also get stuck around your finger.

3. To help the nail varnish under dry quicker, I put my hands under cold water. This also washes away the excess glitter stuck to my finger.

4. Once you feel like your nails are dry, paint them with the clear nail polish.. Carefully coating the whole nail. This will seal the glitter in and stop it from chipping quickly. I find its best to give them two top coats.

I get a lot of compliments on my nails, with people often asking me what salon I got them done at!! They are so simple to do, yet so effective. And perfect for girly nights out. Have an experiment about with glitter.. I bought a few different colours of glitter and mixed them together to do these ones...

Or dip just the ends of your nails in glitter..

Let me know what you think.. And how your nails turn out if you try it! Would love to know any other 'nail art' creations people have.

Outfit of the Day

It's coming up October, but surprisingly the weather in Manchester today resembled a summers day in mid July! I grabbed my sunnies and bared my legs..

20130924-222003.jpg
I went for a pretty in pink outfit, pairing a sequin top with a body-com pale pink skirt.. Dressing it down with my bargain find jacket from warehouse (reduced from £75 to £16!!) and my favourite asos shoes...

Mint Festival Fashion..

Clinging onto the last of festival season (after not attending any this summer), I managed to squeeze one in and went to Mint Fest in Leeds on Saturday. The weather was dry and bright.. And if I can find an excuse NOT to wear wellies, I will! Bought a few new things for the occasion...

So, this is what I wore...

20130923-114347.jpg

I love a good vintage shop, I took a trip to COW in Manchester (at Piccadilly bus station) and found this cool checked shirt, with cut off sleeves which was long enough to use as a dress. Looks like an old one my dad may have worn (which is all the range these days, isn't it?!). I found the tie dye effect on this one interesting (I'm guessing it had been done with bleach to take the colour out). The thing I like about vintage shops is everything in there is different and individual, you could literally spend hours looking!! .. Oh and this shirt was £16, which isn't too bad.

20130923-120643.jpg

I wore the shirt buttoned up to the too, and layered a few necklaces over it. I found some cool cheap ones from Primark and an old one I've had for ages!

20130923-121315.jpg

Okay, so I bought some new boots especially for Mint Fest. They are military style, from H&M, £25.. And I'm going to be wearing them throughout the autumn/winter they would look cool with some skinny jeans or with a little day dress and tights). I wore them with some grey long socks, pulled up just above the boot.

20130923-122007.jpg
(Pictured after the festival, hence why a little dirty!!)

And lastly, you can't go to a festival without wearing sunglasses, can you?? And the sun was actually shining, so I took full advance.. And wore my absolute favourite sunglasses of mine which I picked up from a vintage shop earlier this year. I was wearing a lot of the round framed sunglasses this summer... But how cool are the heart lenses on these ones!

I got a few more pictures from the day of me and friends..

I want, want, want!

I have been basking in the lovely Ibiza sunshine all summer.. to come home to a wonderful wet and windy England. Great! Though, dare I say it, wearing bikini after bikini day in, day out for four months did get a liiiittle boring. With a new season upon us I can't wait to get out the biker chick boots, the woolie hats and the fur! I have put together a little want list of mine (and they will stay 'wants' for a while.. my bank accounts rather dry at the moment!)

1. Jenny clip buckle block heel ankle boot, £30, www.boohoo.com

boohoo

WOW! love these!!! They have loads of attitude and follow the biker chick and cut out trend. I would style these with leather leggings, an oversized tee-shirt dress or skinny jeans. The price explains just why they are number one on my list of must haves..

2. Julio zebra iPhone 5 case, Marc by Marc Jacobs, £40, www.selfridges.co.uk

zebra

This iphone case is SO cute! It's an absolute shame that I don't have an iphone 5 just yet.. but as soon as I get one, I know what I will be buying for it! There are other animal face cases avalible including a dog and an owl, which are just as adorable. I may have a little search on ebay before I pay the £40 for one.. I find that these sort of things are sold on eBay fo a fraction of the price.

3. Silk wrap cami jumpsuit, Topshop, £80, www.topshop.co.uk

20130923-102737.jpg

Because the weathers getting colder and colder, what a better excuse to cover up for a night out? And a good alternative if you want a change from a dress!! Androgyny is fashion trend right now; which is when women dress more masculine.. but the silk fabric of this jumpsuit adds some femininity and glamour. There are some other lovely jumpsuits in Topshop right now too, I
love the 90's inspired spaghetti straps on this one. I would team this with a skinny belt, some killer black or nude heels and a bright yellow clutch bag.

4. Evie envelope clutch bag, £15, www.boohoo.co.uk

20130923-105400.jpg
And speaking of bright yellow clutch bags... Boohoo have the perfect one. Perfect for injecting some colour into your outfit. Easiest way to wear this would be with something neutral (eg. Topshop jumpsuit above ;) ) or a little black dress. You could also colour clash this clutch, it would be trickier, but I think it's all to do with finding something a similar shade (but in a different colour) if that makes sense!!

5. Ark black dilbeek heeled ankle, £44.99, www.ark.co.uk

20130923-110706.jpg
Another pair of ankle boots that I adore (little shoe addiction going on). I saw these whilst shopping the other day and it was love at first sight!! They are a little bit higher then the boohoo boots (number 1 on my want list), still can be used as a day shoe, but also think they would look fab on a night out :)

Well that's just a few things on my wish list for now (until a week later and my list will of grown in size!!!)
